EACH ONE TEACH ONE ACTIVITY
'Once you learn to read,
You will be forever free'.
The most basic form of education, the fundamental building block upon which a student’s academic life begins, is literacy.
International Literacy Day takes place on September 8 every year to raise awareness and concern for literacy problems that exist within our own local communities as well as globally. The day is also aimed at pushing for more concerted efforts towards the development, establishment, maintenance, and upliftment of more literate societies. literacy means “the quality or state of being literate: educated…able to read and write.”It is also celebrated as a means of bringing awareness to the fact that there are still tens of millions of people in the world who struggle to even get basic literacy, let alone a formal education.
