Eco – Friendly Rangoli Competition
Rangoli is an art form originating in the Indian subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the floor or a tabletop using materials such as powdered lime stone, red ochre, dry rice flour, coloured sand, quartz powder, flower petals, and coloured rocks.
It is an everyday practice in Hindu households, however the colours are preferred during festivals and other important celebrations as it is time consuming. Rangoli are usually madeduring Diwali or Tihar, Onam, Pongal, Sankranthi and other Hindu festivals in the Indian subcontinent, and are most often made during Diwali. Designs are passed from one generation to the next, keeping both the art form and the tradition alive.
Over time, imagination and innovative ideas in rangoli art have also been incorporated. Rangoli have been commercially developed in places such as five star hotels. Its traditional charm, artistry and importance continue today.
Eco – friendly rangoli competition was organized at Gajera Vidyabhavan Sachin, on 28 October 2021,Thursday.
Students from 8th std to 12th std participated in the competition. Theme for the competition was Eco friendly. Students used various eco friendly items in order to make their rangoli.
Students showcased their creativity. The judge for rangoli competition were Kunbi Jignesh sir and Patel Raju sir.
14 students participated in all. Among them Khunt Shreya from 10th std stood 1st while Sharma Shruti from 10th std and Hudda Bhoomi from 11th std got 2nd and 3rd respectively.
At the end Our Principal Mr. Nitin Patil Sir and Vice Principal Mrs. Anju Mistry mam observed all the rangolis and appreciated students efforts and their creativity.
