Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration



Ganesh Chaturthi marks one of the most auspicious festivals for Hindus.

  • It's a ten-day festival which will, this year, begin from September 10, 2021.This year the eleven-day celebration will begin on September 10 and will end on September 21. The celebration starts off with people welcoming Lord Ganesha into their houses and locality by installing an idol of him.

  • Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayak Chaturthi in many parts of India is one of the most important festivals of Hindus.

  • The festival is dedicated to Lord Ganesha who is the son of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva and marks his birth anniversary.

  • According to the religious text, Lord Ganesha is the god of wisdom, success and good luck.

  • The day is celebrated on the Shukla Chaturthi of the Bhadrapada lunar month that falls between August and September in the modern English calendar.

  • Ganesh Chaturthi, which is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, marks the birth of Lord Ganesh. ... On this day, followers worship Lord Ganesh, cook delicious food and celebrate it with friends and family.

  • Devotees bring the idols of Lord Ganesha to their homes and towards the end, they immerse them in water.

Lord Ganesha’s love for good food is mentioned even in the books of mythology. It is believed that Lord Ganpati loved Modaks and Ladoos, this is the reason why celebration of this festival is incomplete without sweet delights.

  • There are several other sweet delicacies that are prepared and offered as a bhog to the deity such as Kharvas, Srikhand, Basundi, Kheer, Rabri, Halwa.

  • Ganesh is one of the best known and loved deities in the Hindu pantheon of gods, and indeed is the most recognized outside of India.

  • Devotees believe that if Ganesha is worshiped, he grants success, prosperity and protection against adversity.

  • Idols of Ganesha can be found in every home, in every corner, on the street as neighbourhoods come together to celebrate.

  • Every locality has its own pandal, with a huge Ganesha idol sitting content in the centre.

  • Cultural events, rituals, musical events, folk and classical dance, poetry and more are stuffed into every second of these 10 days.

  • Finally, the 10th day ends with grand processions to immerse the idol.

  • On an auspicious day, Lord Ganesha married Riddhi and Siddhi.

  • They have blessed two beautiful sons named Sabha and Kshema.

  • His wives were his eternal powers.On the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, devotees line up in huge processions for immersing the idols.

  • They bid farewell to Lord Ganesh, asking him to return next year.



On the occasion of Genesh Chaturthi little Gajerians have done craft activity. They have made statues of Lord Ganesha from different objects. Looking at the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi Honorable principal sir has held workshop of making echo friendly statues of Lord Ganesha. From this workshop students have learnt how to celebrate different festivals in echo friendly way. Hence Students got awareness of environment and their responsibility towards environment. Along with this students learnt religious values.
