Human Rights Day

Human Rights Day is celebrated annually all over the world on 10th December. In 1948, it was announced that Human Rights will be celebrated every year by the United Nations General Assembly on the 10th of December. This particular date was chosen to honor the United Nations General Assembly for the adoption and proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It was the first global announcement of Human Rights and also one of the major achievements of the new United Nations. The aim of celebrating this day is to promote and raise awareness about Human Rights


This day is marked by different political conferences, meetings and by cultural events and

exhibitions dealing with human rights issues. On the 10th of December every five years two prizes are awarded the United Nations Prize in the field of Human Rights and Nobel Prize.


Theme

This year Human Rights Day 2022 will mark a year long campaign for the celebration 75years of Declaration of Human Rights day on year 2023. the Campaign will focus on its legacy relevance and activism.

This year’s Human Rights Day 2023 slogan is “Dignity Freedom and Justice for All” and the call to action is #StandUp4HumanRights.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) will mark its 75th anniversary on December 10th, 2023. Human Rights Day 2022 will mark the beginning of a year-long campaign to highlight the UDHR, with a focus on its legacy, relevance, and activism in preparation for the 75th anniversary celebration.

Its goal is to raise awareness of the UDHR as a resource for advancing human rights in practice.

After decades of work, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was finally ratified in 1948, marking a watershed moment in the recognition and protection of human rights around the world. Unfortunately, in recent years there has been a concerted effort to undermine the UDHR’s core principles of human dignity and legal equality.

Importance of Human Rights Day

The importance to celebrate Human Rights Day is to improve the physical, cultural and social welfare around the people globally. Here are some objectives that why we should celebrate human rights day-

—To spread and promote awareness about human rights among the people.

—To give importance to the endeavors of the United Nations General Assembly for the progress of overall human rights.

—To bring people together incorporation to discuss the different issues of human rights.

—Encourage different groups of people like minorities, women, poor people, youth, disabled person and indigenous people to take part in the celebration and political discussion

Date 10/10/2022 Saturday ay on this day Gajera Vidya Bhavana Sachin celebrated Human rights day.The teachers and students of primary section celebrated children Day with a lot of enthusiasm. On this day students prepared beautiful dance and drama. Students also given the speech about human rights.

Our vice principal Ma'am Mrs Anju Mistry also gave us a lot of information about Human rights day.
